Post Re: Martial Arts Training
OK Guys

I have added a few of you today who do taekwondo lessons to the forum and will be setting up a seperate direct mailing group which will be "pro-vo2 martial arts" group, but for a few days (sorry triathletes who dont want to hear about martial arts) i will run a few emails through the general pro-vo2 members forum ... of which a few of you train in the cycling and running sessions anyway...

...and for those looking to compete this year and need extra fitness, should look at coming to the gym an hour early before TKD on a Monday or Thursday to catch either the 7pm run session or 7.30pm spin cycle session to up the fitness levels!

There will be a martial arts events calendar with lists of competitions which will go up on the site shortly with the triathlon, cycling and running spreadsheet so you can see what events you wish to do this year and see what team mates are doing them

See you all on Thursday night either at 8.30pm for taekwondo OR if your "ard enough" (or looking to get into cycling/triathlon) for the bike session before also!

Post Re: Martial Arts Training - Sparring with Headguards
Taekwondo Boys and Girls,

As mentioned in the classes recently i want you to make sure you bring your pads to ALL the lessons and wear boxes/groin guards, but in particular i would like everyone to start to use a headgaurd...

...even if you do half of your sparring in it, is essential (not just from the safety aspect) to learn how to spar wearing one and more importantly...get good at sparring with slightly damped vision due to the side vision being closed off.

If you dont have one you can get one in the shop which isnt released yet through this link. I will be selling the usual blitz and top pro equipment, which i can then just bring down to the lesson until we have shipping sorted (hence the shop isnt live yet)

heres the link to martial arts equipment and you will see headguards
http://provo2.myshopify.com/pages/martial-arts

i would look at a dipped foam hood (blitz) or a TopPro dipped foam for more TKD semi contact orientated... or if look for more protection check out the other blitz head guards... maybe Chris and Ben you should get the full contact style!

See you all tonight

PS sorry triathletes...i will try and get a seperate martial arts email system soon sorted with jose :geek: :ugeek:
